Hope Alive is an Ottawa-based worship project creating songs full of truth for the Church and those searching for hope. Bringing together what’s real about life and true about God, their music invites listeners to respond with bold faith and discover the hope found in Jesus.

The project grew quietly within a local church and the lives of two families. At its heart is the songwriting partnership of Josh Ninaber and Andrea Nicholls, who connected while serving at The Met Bible Church. While they share the same vision, each brings different strengths to the process. Their spouses, Lydia Ninaber and Ian Nicholls, offer input and encouragement as songs take shape, alongside a wider community of worship leaders, musicians, pastors and producers.

Hope Alive writes for congregational worship and Christian radio. “Where Would I Be” was a finalist in The Gospel Coalition’s international songwriting competition, while “All I Am Is Yours,” a celebration of joyful surrender, received support from Christian radio stations across Canada. Their music has also reached churches as far as India.

Through every song, Hope Alive seeks to strengthen the Canadian Church – creating biblically rich, memorable songs that are honest about life, confident in the character of God and filled with the living hope of Jesus.
